KETEC offers a model to develop, nurture, and launch clean technology and renewable energy business concepts, as well as more traditional, non-energy themed concepts. It helps commercialize these ideas, and assists newly formed companies to locate in Pennsylvania eco-industrial centers. As part of an active regional partnership devoted to creating green jobs for Pennsylvania, its founders include community action professionals, teachers, energy company executives, venture capitalists, workforce and economic development professionals, engineers, scientists, college professors and administrators, academic researchers, architects, attorneys, publishing professionals, grant writers, business people, and student interns.
With research and development into clean uses of anthracite, carbon capture and sequestration, and remediation of the acid mine drainage that has polluted our soils and waters, KETEC will help reclaim the waste products of power production and improve the region’s environmental quality.
