FACILITY

The High Performance Building Rehabilitation of KETEC’s headquarters will embody all of the KEYSTONE PRINCIPLES FOR GROWTH, but especially Principle No. 1: “Redevelop First.”   The General Cigar Company factory, located on the corner of Fifth and Hickory Streets in downtown Mt. Carmel, was first constructed in 1916.  It will be outfitted using LEED and High Performance Building design principles to  house KETEC’S offices, research and conference spaces, and made-to-order offices for 25-35 incubating companies.  Featuring renewable energy power systems, stormwater capture and re-use systems, and energy-efficient electrical, lighting, telecommunications, and water heating and distribution systems, the building will measure and monitor its own energy efficiency performance.  Interactive displays of all the systems at work will afford an educational experience to visitors.
